Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Zipt ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our service. We keep this short on purpose; if you have questions, contact us directly.
What we collect
We collect only what we need to provide the service:
- Account information: Your name and email address, provided when you sign in via Google, GitHub, or Meta OAuth.
- Link and QR data: The URLs you create, custom aliases, and QR code configurations.
- Click analytics: When a short link is clicked, we log the timestamp, referrer, approximate country (derived from IP), and device type. We do not store raw IP addresses after geolocation.
- Billing information: Handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your payment card details.
What we don't collect
- We do not sell your data to third parties.
- We do not use your data to serve advertising.
- We do not track your activity outside of Zipt.
How we use your data
- To provide and operate the service.
- To show you analytics about your own links.
- To send transactional emails (account notices, billing receipts). No marketing emails without explicit opt-in.
- To diagnose bugs and improve reliability.
Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Click event data is retained according to your plan tier (30 days on Free, 1 year on Personal, indefinitely on Business). When you delete your workspace, all associated data is permanently deleted within 30 days.
Third-party services
We use a small number of third-party services to operate:
- OAuth providers: Google, GitHub, and Meta for authentication. Each is governed by their respective privacy policy.
- Stripe: For payment processing. Governed by Stripe's privacy policy.
- Cloud infrastructure: Hosted on servers located in the United States.
Your rights
You can export or delete your data at any time from your workspace settings. For requests that can't be handled in-product, contact us and we'll respond within 5 business days.
Cookies
We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when the policy changes and note the date at the top. For material changes, we'll send an email to registered users in advance.
